Jammu: Two terrorists were killed along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s border Poonch district during wee hours of Monday as alert army troops foiled an infiltration bid from the side of Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Pointing out that the infiltration bid was detected by the troops by effective use of the integrated surveillance grid, Defence PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand said fierce firefight started as terrorists, on being challenged by the troops, opened fire on them.

One terrorist was neutralised and his body alongwith an AK-47 rifle has been recovered.

During searches in the area, troops noticed body of another militant lying across the LoC along with an AK47 rifle and a pouch containing ammunition, he said, adding Monday’s action by alert Army troops displays their resolve to thwart any misadventure along the Line of Control.
