Attempts to intimidate political opponents; says Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar: Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday issued notice to Gulshan Nazir, widow of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed and mother of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti asking her to appear at its Rajbagh office on July 14.

The news about ED action was made public by President of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti on the micro blogging site Twitter.

“On the day PDP chose not to meet Delimitation Commission, ED sent a summon to my mother to appear in person for unknown charges. In its attempts to intimidate political opponents, GOI doesn’t even spare senior citizens. Agencies like NIA & ED are now its tools to settle scores,” Mehbooba said in a tweet.

She shared summon issued by Assistant Director ED Sunil Kumar to Gulshan Nazir, wife of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the former Chief Minister of J&K and ex-Home Minister of India. Gulshan Nazir has been asked to appear before the ED office at Rajbagh Srinagar on July 14.
