Lucknow: National Investigation Agency on Saturday filed chargesheet against two Kishtwar residents before the NIA Special Court here in connection with Hizbul Mujahideen’s conspiracy to carry out terror activities at different places in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of India.

Identified as Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, 52, and Nishad Ahmad Butt, 42, both are residents of Kishtwar’s Bonstan and Hunjala villages in Jammu and Kashmir, respectively.

The case was originally by UP’s ATS at Lucknow in September 2018 against Kamruj Zaman and others in connection with a criminal conspiracy by Hizbul Mujahideen cadres to carry out terror incidents at different places in UP and other parts of India. Later, investigations in the case were taken over by NIA who filed chargesheet against arrested Kamruj Zaman and absconding Osama Bin Javed in March 2019.

Osama was later killed by security forces in an encounter.

NIA in its chargesheet pointed out that Nisar Sheikh used to arrange safe transport for slain Osama and other terrorists, while Nishad Butt had been providing them shelter and other logistics. The latter had even constructed a hideout in his own house for the purpose, it said, adding further investigations in the case are in progress.
