Schools, colleges to remain closed in JK till December 31
Jammu, November 29: All schools, colleges, higher educational institutions including Anganwadi Centre will continued to remain closed across the Union Territory till December 31 as the UT government on Sunday issued revised guidelines for COVID-19 lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, this order will not apply to training institutions run by the Central/state government. The online/distant learning shall be permitted and 50 per cent of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be permitted to be called to schools foronline teaching/tele-counselling and related works in areas outside containment zones only.
According to the new guidelines, students of 9th to 12th class can visit their schools in areas outside containment zones only on voluntary basis and subject to written consent from their parents.
The UT government also put all the districts of Kashmir and Jammu provinces in orange zone except Lakhanpur containment zone on the NH-44 with a buffer of 500 mts radius and Jawahar Tunnel area on either side.
