Jammu, October 24
Activists of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena here on Saturday held demonstration and burnt the photographs of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti for her statement that she will not raise tri colour until erstwhile state got its own flag back.
Leading the protestors, SSDF president Ashok Gupta said they “will not tolerate anti-national remarks of Kashmiri politicians like Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah’’. He appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open the borders and send them to Pakistan and China, respectively, as there is no place for such people in India.
Pointing out that tri colour is “our pride, honour and prestige of our martyrs’’, Gupta asked all the National Conference MPs to tender their resignation for being part of Gupkar declaration. He said that the abrogation of Article 370 was permanent and the people of Jammu will not allow its restoration.
In her first media interaction after her release from over an year-long detention in Srinagar, PDP leader had on Friday said that she will not contest elections and raise tricolour till the constitutional changes made by the Centre on August 5 last year were rolled back. In what may be seen as an act of defiance, the flag of erstwhile state was also displayed along with the PDP flag in front of Mehbooba Mufti during the press conference.
